CRT Stakeholders and Friends,

Late yesterday Members of Congress sent a bipartisan letter to CMS Administrator Brooks-LaSure urging her to stop the July 1 Medicare payment cuts to CRT manual wheelchair accessories.

Thanks to everyone who contacted their Representatives asking them to sign on to the letter. We also sincerely thank Representatives John Larson (D-CT) and Lee Zeldin (R-NY) for their continued leadership on this issue and to all the other Members of Congress who added their signature.

While we had a short timeframe, the letter was signed by 19 Members (18 Representatives and Senator Bob Casey (D-PA)) and shows strong bipartisan support for needed action before June 30. The signers included members of the three Congressional Committees having jurisdiction over the Medicare program. You can see the letter here.

As reported, CMS has been reviewing this issue and our communications with them has been ongoing. There are additional meetings scheduled with CMS this week as CRT stakeholder organizations collectively continue to work toward preventing these cuts that will take away access for people with disabilities who depend on CRT manual wheelchairs.

Regards,

Don
